This is my first time experimenting with screen printing! The first piece I would like to focus on is Daydream! This is hands down my favorite printmaking project I've done so far. Inspired by J-hope's Daydream from his album Hope World, this piece screams positivity! I wanted to capture the pure happy energy that the song oozes! The flowery pattern and the 70's type font capture the essence of J-Hope's musical aesthetic. Bright contrasting colors were the only way to go as well, I would not choose anything other than happy colors! The flowers actually encompass flowers that I have drawn in the past. The sunflowers are from my piece Honey Dew Drops and Sunflower Swirls. The triangular lilies are from MR. RAY. The rest of the flowers are my favorites to draw! Hydrangeas just happen to be my favorite to draw and favorite flower in general! The Ocean Man print. Inspiration came from none other than the amazing song, Ocean Man by Ween. The pocket design is by far my favorite placement on shirt designs. I found it necessary to draw the ocean in the circle seeing that whomever wears this print becomes the Ocean Man. Music is very influential in my work. I feel because you can tell a story so well through music, bringing it to life is what I really enjoy about the art I create.
