The title of this charcoal drawing is Did You See My Bag. This was strictly my first observation drawing. This project was from a collage of treasures my art teacher so beautifully put together. In this piece, charcoal was all I came to know. Every night I would dream about charcoal because it's all I surrounded myself with. Charcoal was on all the sleeves of my clothing. Showing the depth of the still life through the shifts in values was my main focus. I tried to emphasizing on the shading and high lights with the light source I chose. Killing the line to find the real form of the objects was another one of my goals. When sketching the contours, I focused on proportions in comparison with each object. As you can see there is a lot of random objects in the picture. The more you look, the more you find! It brings me back to childhood when my father would play the I-Spy books with me!
